Similar to the decontextualized mapping project, I endeavored to better understand the urban fabric around me. By drawing all of the places I have lived at the same scale, I was able to see patterns emerge. I also had a lot of fun looking at historical maps and listings to see when each building was built, especially as it relates to it’s scale and character.
My partner also sent me all of their addresses, which I dutifully mapped as well.
